Aaron Taylor-Johnson Teases Potential MCU Return as Quicksilver
Aaron Taylor-Johnson leads his own Marvel film out in theaters this weekend, Kraven the Hunter, but the former MCU star has seemingly teased that his short-lived tenure as Quicksilver may resume at some point. In 2015, Taylor-Johnson made his superhero debut as Marvel’s speedster in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but to the disappointment of many diehard fans, he was killed in the same film. The fan-favorite has been absent in the MCU since, and although WandaVision played around with people’s emotions, it does not seem Quicksilver is in the company’s plans. Well, until now, if the actor is to be believed.

While on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Taylor-Johnson was asked why he had returned as Quicksilver in a cinematic universe in which everyone seems to come back from the dead. After taking a sip of coffee, the Kraven actor replies, “Well, maybe not everything is out there.” He then quickly pivots back to pushing Kraven as a franchise, whose character and storyline he believes are ripe for more appearances. Of course, we know now that Sony is done making Spider-Man-related films at the moment, so perhaps the slight tease about Quicksilver is the start of something more significant down the road.
With Marvel recruiting former MCU members for their upcoming slate, fans know Quicksilver’s return is within the realm of possibility. To that end, Taylor-Johnson has been bombarded with questions about Quicksilver during his press run for Kraven the Hunter. Previously, he remarked that he would love to work with Elizabeth Olsen again, and also wondered why her character, Scarlet Witch, has yet to resurrect her twin brother.
“Lizzie Olsen, phenomenal actor, absolute star, wonderful human being. And I’m not just saying that — she’s really lovely… And I don’t know why she didn’t resurrect me!”
With ‘Kraven’ Bombing, an MCU Return Seems More Possible Now
While the movie’s stars have been clamoring for Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s supervillain to crossover with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, it now seems Quicksilver getting resurrected is more likely than ever before. Some may believe it’s far too late, especially since he did not appear in WandaVision and Agatha All Along, but Marvel Studios has not been afraid of picking up old threads as of late. Whether it is Deadpool & Wolverine bringing back characters from previous Marvel films, or casting Robert Downey Jr. as the next big bad for the Avengers, it seems that the current state of the MCU has forced the studio’s hand in diverting course from their original plans by revisiting the past.

‘Kraven the Hunter’ Is Already a Huge Flop on Rotten Tomatoes
Unfortunately, according to ‘Kraven the Hunter’ reviews, the Sony curse is still alive and well.
Until official words arrive regarding Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s potential future as Quicksilver, fans should probably keep their expectations neutral as the movie star attempts to launch his own franchise with Kraven the Hunter. It’s clear that the actors and filmmakers behind it view the film as a labor of love, an open letter to fans to allow them to continue telling stories about Marvel’s greatest predator. Unfortunately, it seems audiences disagree so far.
